“He returned again and broke the New Bread which ages and generations shall not waste away!” – Ephrem the Syrian, Hymns on the Nativity (Hymn 3)

A blog about forming children to be ministers, cross-generational worship, theology of childhood, and catechesis. Also, crafts.

I am a licensed minister in the Mennonite Church USA (Virginia Mennonite Conference) and a member of Chapel Hill Mennonite Fellowship. Currently I sojourn with the Methodists as the Minister of Children at Duke Memorial United Methodist Church. I hold a Masters degree in Religion from Duke University and an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary. My husband and I parent our three children: Tennyson, Wyclif, and Etta Wren.

The writings on this blog are the author’s own and are not an expression of the opinions of Duke Memorial.

  1. Melissa, I just wanted to encourage you to continue writing honestly and openly about your family’s worship experience. Since this topic is profoundly personal to your readers, it hits a nerve. That’s a good thing! I’m so sorry that people can’t disagree without making personal attacks. Hope to read more from you soon!
